The church of studentsoul was planted on campus at the beginning of 2002 and meets in the Union Common room, next to the main library and main café,on the University of Otago Campus, Dunedin, New Zealand. Helen Harray, supported by Richard Dawson, and the Presbyterian Church, organizes and leads the services which follow an alternative cafe style. Complementing their input is a student led worship band, heaps of weird and wacky activities, free hot drinks and bikkies and loads of opportunities to get to know other students.
studentsoul is a growing community of students who believe in Christ and want to help others to discover a relationship with God through Jesus.
Our services generally follow an interactive style with opportunities to get to know where others are at, to discuss questions related to the theme, time to respond to the message through drawing or in prayer, or with candles or in worship songs. No two services are ever the same and usually contain many surprises like ordering pizza for everyone or watching a movie clip or listening to an awesome singer or modeling with clay.
Above all we try to be student focused and to look at the topics and issues that are particularly relevant for this age and stage of life.
As well as the Sunday night service there are many activities during the year including awesome camps, small groups, seminars, and fun events focusing on building community and personal growth.
Our vision statement and values will help you understand more about who we are and what we stand for.
