studentsoul VISION

"Helping students find wholeness"

studentsoul VALUES

The principles and core beliefs which guide and filter our behaviour and goals and strategies are:

1. EVERYONE IS AWESOME IN GOD'S EYES - John 3:16

2. EVERYONE IS CALLED TO GROW - Romans 12:1-2

3. EVERYONE IS CALLED TO SERVE - Ephesians 2: 10

1. AWESOMENESS:

Building relationships and being together to worship and pray and grow matters. Our corporate life as a worshipping and healthy part of the Body of Christ is of fundamental importance. We want to be a welcoming community, where each person is safe and finds meaningful relationships. Together we reach out to others.

Dignity: People matter. Mark 1: 41, Gen 1: 26-28, Ps 8.
All are made in the image of God and loved, special, unique, equal and dignified by God.
Key concepts: Respect, personal sovereignty, relational intimacy based on truth and love and healthy relationships

Diversity: Difference matters. Ephesians 4:16.
Together we all make one Body of Christ, as each part does its work. We learn differently, we have differing spiritual pathways, gifts, personalities. We will provide for this in fresh and diverse ways that we do community, our worship services and small groups, and in evangelism.

2. GROWTH/TRANSFORMATION:

Wholeness in Christ matters so that we are found mature in Christ. We want to provide opportunities for real healing in body, mind and spirit, such that transforms us into mature Christians able to serve Christ. Romans 12:1-2.

Depth: Stickability matters. Mark 4.
The seed was snatched away for lack of understanding. We want to encourage thinking about and owning personal faith. Learning how to question and think theologically. Ephesians 3: 13-19.To be rooted and grounded in the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Discipleship/Devotion: Becoming totally devoted followers of Jesus matters. We value personal growth and accountability to others. We want to still be committed to Christ in our old age because our vision of the Kingdom of God is constantly inspiring and fulfilling. We want to develop leaders for the future church and help all to find their place in the Body of Christ, equipped to serve.

3. MISSION/SERVICE:

The command to go into all the world and make disciples matters.

Discovery: Helping others discover Jesus matters.
The studentsoul community exists to reach out to others, and to share the love of God expressed in Jesus Christ, in a way that is appropriate to the student age and culture.

Doing: Expressing the grace and love of Christ matters.
We are created for good deeds. We want to become doers of the words of Christ in response to the unconditional love and acceptance we have each freely received. We value those who are considered the poor and outcast in our world and go beyond ourselves to reach them. Every person is created for good works God prepared in advance for us to live in. Ephesians 2:10.
